CAR CRASH-- April 15, 2010
ALL THE RIBS ON THE LEFT SIDE WERE BROKEN
Major injuries reported in Scott Valley crash
Etna, Calif. —
One man sustained major injuries and was transported to a Medford hospital following a car accident Thursday, April 15, according to a California Highway Patrol press release. Stanley Caffott, 59, of Etna, was traveling southbound on State Route 3 around 8:05 a.m. when he slowed down and pulled onto the west shoulder of the highway just south of Horn Lane, according to a CHP report. Clayton Facey, 51, also of Etna, was traveling southbound behind Caffott at a speed of 50-55 miles per hour. As Caffott pulled to the side of the road, Facey slowed down to about 40 miles per hour and proceeded to pass Caffott’s vehicle. Caffott then effected a left or U-turn from the shoulder of the highway, directly into Facey’s path of travel, the report said. The front of Facey’s 1989 Ford Bronco collided into the driver’s side of Caffott’s 1992 Subaru Legacy Wagon.
Caffott sustained major injuries as a result of the collision, the report said. He was transported by Etna Ambulance to Fairchild Medical Center, where he was transferred by helicopter to Providence Hospital in Medford, Ore. Facey was not transported.
The car crash didn't kill him, but he was in the hospital for 6 weeks. Stanley was getting enough drugs to kill an elephant, just to keep him in bed. It weakened his heart.
